Freesat LCD HD TV
Freesat gives you more for your HD TV viewing pleasure. More HD channels than Freeview because it uses a satellite dish not a TV aerial. More clear HD pictures, more channels more choice.
What about Freeview TV?
Freesat is a 'no contract' free to air satellite service owned by the BBC and ITV. Freesat is transmitted from the same satellite as Sky. Your Sky Sat Dish will be pointing at the same satellite and be functionally the same. Freeview is a land based transmitter tower system so signals may bounce around buildings before your aerial picks them up. Freeview will be able to carry fewer HD channels than a satellite system due to the clarity of their signal when it reaches your aerial.
Freeview has the advantage of a simpler cable upgrade connection of any additional rooms. Gone are the days of piggy backing the extra cable onto the same aerial. Proper quality signals are still required so and signal boosters are needed. Signal quality matters so much that old cable will likely fail and the aerial will also need to be modern and upgraded.
You can use an installed Sky dish because it points to the same satellite signals. If a free connection is present on your quad pick-up then you can have a cable feed added and plug this in to the freesat HD TV.
Viewing angle should be checked because many flat screen HD TVs are large and difficult to maneuver when mounted on a wall.Wall mounting can be tricky considering the weight and need to lay power and signal cables. You should consider the possibility that a badly mounted screen can fall and injure people. This is not just health and safety, this is reality with the possibility that you can injure yourself so installation is recommended.
Contrast levels tend to be the defining quality aspect of a display. There are many aspects to quality HD TV display, and many of them are personal preferences, but this appears to be a quality mark.
Connectivity which is normally facilitated by HDMI cable connections but will you be able to connect your XBox or your existing DVD?
Weight, size, and safe position are important ergonomic aspects to your home. The tube of an old fashioned television is made from thick glass to retain a vacuum. LCD protection is with a plastic shield and any damage will ether scratch the surface or damage the pixels underneath. Room planning is a good idea to protect the HD TV equipment from accidental damage and present a pleasing workable appearance.Consider a professional installation service because they will ensure proper fitting as well as proper demonstration of a full working system. Gone are the days when you could put a coat hanger into an aerial socket and think that it may work!
